Life returns to Reeds alley

so in this game we play theres tons of drama, hell just look at the comments we have on our images. so the folks over at reed brothers store have hooked us up with a private legal spot to go paint and koc, aero and a few other folks got up and layed down some sick stuff. But typical to this game, someone had some beef and decided to splash the whole alley with buckets of paint. no one was spared. so it went beyond individual beef. But we as artist know when to put our petty beef aside and get up. What appeared to be a bad thing, brough new life to the alley.Koc and everyone came out the night before and buffed the alley to get ready for the next day. Eno had set up the whole event and in total 11 artists showed up and got down. Eno , trancending political bs, turned a bad thing into an awesome event. heres what replaced the eyesore.:

TagRecord.com Light graffiti

I'm sure some of you have seen the new light graffiti pictures that were made for tagrecord.com by OldOceans, 1.618 and a few other kids from Cola

This was created with a slow shutter technique and some leds, took us about 3 minutes. its kinda confusing working in 3 demsions with no reference points to refer too, took us a few times to get it right Its interesting to see how new techologies are playing into 'street art" or whatever you want to call this, either way, pretty sweet.

TagRecord LaserTag project

Over this labor day weekend I've been working fairly nonstop to finish the basic coding necessary to recreate the laser tag project from the GRL. Well, it works now. Below is the first projected result.

We still have a lot to do with the user interface and various camera support issues, but you can try it out at http://trac.butterfat.net/public/blobber.

New Features and a Mission (Statement)

Just added a wiki for tag record. Also added author information to tags - each author name is a link to their page on the wiki. The goal is to eventually get a good collection of author pages, howtos, venues, etc. on the wiki.

Also added information on the goals of Tag Record - most importantly, a bit about the co-opiness of the project. Anyone can feel free to help take ownership of this effort - help promote it, help with pictures, add content, etc. The goal is to form a community - where everyone can contribute and help out (contribute knowledge, experience, information, instructions, etc).

MultiUpload Tool

I've just finished adding a multi upload page so that you can simultaneously upload up to 6 images. If it works well, I might increase it to allow up to 10 simultaneous uploads.

Will hopefully be embarking on some new projects shortly - namely, the greenffiti and laser tagging.

There are some great pics here of reverse graffiti. It's a much more artistic version of "Wash Me" written on a dirty windshield.....

There will be an art show on Thurs, May 29 at 8 pm at the old Artist and Craftsman (434 King Street - see a map). We'll be there with some stickers, throwies, and maybe a few other "arts and crafts". We'll also be looking for input and help on one of our future projects, making a L.A.S.E.R. Tag system. Any other ideas for projects or the website will be welcome - see you there.
